Gulf of Patras - Messolongi Print E-mail

From Trizonia we started very early in order to avoid stronger winds lthat could occur in the afternoon. At 9am it was 5
Beaufort (ca. 40 kmh) and a t the most narrow place of the gulf of Corinth on which a bridge has been built we faced 6 Beaufort (ca. 50 kmh) and high waves. In gusts the anemometer went up until 8 Bft - ca. 65 kmh - storm - conditions the solarwave-Catamaran has never seen before.

Surfing down the waves was exciting and thrilling and we were amazed, how gently and smoothly the boat mangaged these conditions.

In spite of ouf fast cruise and the overcast sky which gave us only very little energy we arrived in Messolongi after 38 Miles with 60% full batteries.

On wednesday and thursday we were visited by many pupils with their teachers, journalists and the major of Messolongi. At times the boat was very crowded with up to 30 people!

The recently opened Marina Messolongi offered us a nice place where all the people could easily come on board.
